Texas Mother Gets Charged For Her 4-Year-Old Daughter’s Death, Has Sickening 3-Word Excuse

A mother from San Antonio, Texas, was arrested and accused of causing injuries that led to the death of her 4-year-old daughter.

Jessica Briones brought her unresponsive daughter, Olivia, into a police station on Sept. 5, and the child was quickly rushed to the hospital with injuries to her arms, face and head. She was pronounced dead the following day.

When authorities interviewed Briones, she told them Olivia was vomiting and would not wake up on the morning she was brought to the station. The 34-year-old reportedly researched causes of vomiting and discovered that head trauma was a possible cause. The mother admitted to slamming the door on her daughter’s arm but said it was an accident, My San Antonio reported.

Briones also told police her daughter fell often and most recently hit her head on the floor just days before the incident. She said she took her daughter to a police station rather than calling 911 because she wasn’t sure where her phone was and that it was  low on minutes.

A medical examiner determined that Olivia had a swollen nose, eight scars on her head, an abrasion on the back of her head, a deflated left lung, a fractured vertebra, a black eye, two swollen arms and a swollen wrist. The tissue in her upper lip was also detached from her gums.

The girl was found to have bleeding in multiple places inside her head as well as severe brain swelling, which doctors determined was consistent with being struck in the head.

Briones could face up to 99 years in prison if she is found guilty.

Olivia’s cause of death is still pending, and charges for the mother could be upgraded, depending on the determination from the medical examiner’s office.

“Sorry a** b***h that beautiful sweet innocent little angel did not deserve that,” one Mad World News reader commented in response to the story on the site’s Facebook page. “Just wait til her momma hits prison they are going to have fun with her and I hope she feels what that poor angel went threw and she didn’t deserve what was done to her she should have been loved and spoiled god it makes me so angry I’d love to beat that moms ass so bad I couldn’t even think of doing that to anyone.”

“RIP little girl, its just so saddened that a mother who ought to protect life is the one taking away life, a woman who ought to be source of joy and encouragement turn to source of tears,” another wrote.

“She will pay for this!” added another. “When she goes to prison and her fellow inmates find out what she has done, she will pay for what she did to that innocent little girl!”
