Mother Films Herself Torturing, Gagging Baby (Video)

A Humble, Texas, woman was arrested and appeared in court after she reportedly filmed herself torturing, gagging and tying a plastic bag over the head of her baby. 

Court documents obtained by KPRC stated that 23-year-old Jamelle Andrea Peterkin tortured her child, stuffing a plastic bag in her mouth and tying it over her head. 

“There were some pictures taken approximately a month ago. Officers  arrived at a day care and they observed some disturbing photos.  They also saw video of the complainant in a car seat and an adult hand was seen stuffing a plastic bag into the mouth of the complainant, who appeared to have difficulty breathing,” a prosecutor said, KPRC reported.

“Officers also saw another still picture of the complainant in a child car sear with a plastic bag over his head, covering the face and tying it in a knot.”

In a clip of the torture, the baby can be seen screaming while his mother films. Peterkin can be heard saying, “tell your daddy” in response to her baby’s cries of pain and fear.

In an interview with police, Peterkin said that she was angry with the baby’s father when she took the video and pictures.

The video was shown to the baby’s aunt, Ra’neicha Broadnax, who was forced to post it on Facebook when local police didn’t respond quickly enough initially. 

“The video I sent to the police, she had a plastic bag, she was stuffing it down his throat,” Broadnax told The Sun. “I thought she killed him.”

An order of protection was issued, which prohibited Peterkin from going within 200 feet of her child. In court, an emotional Peterkin told the judge that her mother would be picking her up from jail and would have her child with her.

“You’ll have to find someone else (to pick you up), because if you get within 200 feet of the child while this order is pending, she’s going to have to bring that child to 701 San Jacinto to visit you because you’re going to be in jail,” the judge replied.

Many readers expressed their horror and outrage at Peterkin’s treatment of her baby, calling on her to be punished. 

” Someone knew she was crazy n didn’t turn her in. Look what happens when people ignore what’s goin on around them. That baby could have been helped sooner!” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page.

“I hope she never gets to be around this little boy for for the rest of his life. She doesn’t deserve him. He deserves all the love his new family can give him,” another wrote.
