Mother Shocked By Apple Store Employee’s Gift To Son
An Arizona mother was shocked by what an Apple Store employee did for her son while she shopped.
According to Newsiosity, an 8-year-old boy named Chase went to the Apple Store with his mother, Angel, and worked on his homework while she shopped. While Angel talked to one employee, another employee walked over to Chase and struck up a conversation.
Angel didn’t think much of the conversation, but thought it was nice that the employee was talking to Chase.
The employee asked Chase about his homework, and his response left the employee stunned.
“I am in first grade and I should be in second grade, but I was in the hospital for a year because I have brain cancer and I really want to make sure I make it to second grade next year,” Chase told the employee, according to a post on his mother’s Facebook page.
The employee was nearly brought to tears when Chase revealed that he had suffered from brain cancer at such a young age. She quickly ran to the back of the store to talk to the store’s manager, Jason Greer.
Shortly after, Greer came out himself and approached Angel. She was worried that one of her other children may have touched something they shouldn’t have, or that something was wrong.
Instead, the manager explained what his employee told him about Chase and said that he wanted to do something special for the 8-year-old.
“Jason said that it is stories like Chase’s that make him love his job because they love to make a difference,” Angel wrote in her post, according to Wimp. “He asked if he could give Chase something, I was still in shock and said of course.”
Greer then handed his employee, Vicki, a brand new iPod Nano to give to Chase.
Angel said that Chase was shocked and, because of how shy he is, simply replied with a gentle “thank you.”
Angel provided a little more background: “What they did not know is that Chase is OBSESSED with time, it is one of the ways he copes with the anxiety issues he has from his ‘hospital life.’ It is his way of knowing what will come next. In addition, he loves music (Queen is his current favorite). Chase has spent ALL night checking the time on his Nano and singing ‘We Will Rock You.’ They absolutely made his week!!!!”
The mother said she was sharing her experience in hopes that Vicki and Jason hear that their gesture was appreciated and that they made a huge impact on her son.
“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Vicki and Jason!” Angel wrote.
