A Kentucky mother took to Facebook to warn others after her baby suffered burns on her lip from putting a phone charger in her mouth.

Courtney N Davis’ post went viral after she shared photos of the aftermath of her daughter’s contact with the phone charger.

“So I wasn’t going to post about this until I posted in a mom group and found out many parents don’t think twice about the danger of a phone charger around children. On Sept 28th my 19 month old stuck my phone charger in her mouth,” she explained in the post.

“We went to the Dr who confirmed that it was an electrical burn there was nothing they could put on it due to her being able to lick it. Any other day my charger wouldn’t have been plugged up in her reach but bc of a bunch of stuff going on that day I didn’t have time to move it. It took all of a few seconds for her to get burned. She had never tried to put it in her mouth and she had never messed with it. The one day it isn’t moved she stuck it in her mouth and got a severe burn. She doesn’t feel it thank God hasn’t acted like it bothers her at all.”

Davis urged others to put their chargers out of reach of children to avoid a similar situation.

“My daughter was lucky the next kid may not be as lucky as her,” she wrote.

Many readers expressed shock over the incident and wished the child well in her recovery.

“God bless hope she gets better poor little one big hug to her and her family,” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page.

“Poor baby and Mom,” another added.

In a similar incident, a baby died after putting a phone charger in her mouth and chewing on it.

The disturbing accident took place in Kazakhstan, when a baby girl reportedly put a charger in her mouth while it was plugged in.

“The girl started playing with the charging cable,” a family friend told Mirror. “Apparently she put it in her mouth and started chewing it.”

The baby was playing with the cable at the time, causing it to wear down and the wire to become exposed. This led to the girl being electrocuted, which doctors confirmed after the mother rushed her daughter to the hospital.
