Newborn Baby Found Being Eaten Alive By Ants (Photos)

Heartbreaking footage has surfaced showing an abandoned newborn baby that was found being eaten alive by ants on the side of the road.

Horrifying stills from the footage show the newborn’s bare body covered in ants, screaming in agony due to the rashes caused by the ants’ bites. 

According to The Sun, local residents found the child on the side of the road inside of a bag, with no clothing or a note left inside. Citizens picked up the baby and helped clean the ants off its body. 

The baby was taken to the hospital by police and paramedics after the residents who made the discovery called the authorities. It has not yet been revealed whether the baby is a boy or girl, but officials say that it is in stable condition following medical treatment.

Police have launched an investigation following the incident to find the child’s mother, searching through surveillance and traffic camera footage throughout the city of Shantou, in the Chinese Province of Guangdong.

The infant will be kept at the hospital while the investigation is underway.
