Palin: ‘We’re Going To Take Our Country Back’

In a July 1 speech for Donald Trump’s campaign, former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin called out members of the GOP who do not support Donald Trump.

“That gang, they call themselves Never hashtag, whatever, I just call them Republicans Against Trump, or RAT for short,” the former Alaska governor said in Colorado of the #NeverTrump movement, before the presumptive Republican nominee took the stage, according to Politico.

Palin went on to call anti-Trump Republicans “thumbsuckers” and said they will be responsible for Hillary Clinton taking the White House:

“This isn’t a game, nor some drama to be played out on the convention stage. No, they’re playing with dynamite and arming those opposed to the planks in the platform on which Lincoln and Reagan stood. We’re talking about the direction of our country, our children’s future, the direction of the Supreme Court, all of this hinging on the next election. And at such a time as this, you cannot be lukewarm. We’re going to take our country back, and you are either with us or against us.”

One possible reason Palin gave for the #NeverTrump movement’s dislike of the billionaire businessman is his “revolutionary” vision for the country.

“Thinking Americans thought and watched Donald Trump rip the veil off a rigged system that has betrayed your everyday, hard-working, garden-variety, ticked-off American,” Palin said. “And there are more of us than the disconnected left can ever even fathom,” Palin remarked.

Palin has been an outspoken Trump supporter since she endorsed the real estate mogul in late January 2016, notes the Washington Post. Both candidates have cultivated their political reputations as being anti-establishment politicians who frequently speak out against political correctness. Since January, Palin has been calling for the GOP to unite behind Trump.

“Our own GOP machine, the establishment, they who would assemble the political landscape, they’re attacking their own front runner,” she said at the time, according to the Post. “Now would the Left ever, would the DNC ever come after their front-runner and her supporters? No, because they don’t eat their own, they don’t self-destruct. But for the GOP establishment to be coming after Donald Trump’s supporters even, with accusations that are so false, they are so busted, the way that this thing works.”
