Police Sick To Learn What Parents Forced Into Baby Girl’s Body Mere Hours After Her Birth

Two Utah parents were arrested for giving their newborn baby meth and heroin on the day she was born.

Colby Glen Wilde and Lacey Dawn Christenson were charged with drug distribution and child endangerment after their child was born addicted to drugs due to use by the mother during pregnancy.

On the day of their daughter’s birth, Wilde reportedly applied Suboxone to the infant’s gums — which is often used to mask signs of addiction in newborn babies. Christenson admitted to applying Suboxone after the crushed up substance was found in their home during an investigation.

Wilde was initially arrested for attempting to get a cash refund for items he took from shelves at a local Walmart by pretending he was returning them, and was with his infant daughter when he was confronted by security personnel. He ultimately handed his baby, who was still in a car seat, over to a stranger and drove away in his car. He was apprehended and charged with suspicion of DUI, possession of heroin and methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and having no insurance. Later, charges of theft and child abuse were added.

Christensen, who was in the store at the time with her three other young children, was also arrested; she had an outstanding warrant. While both were in jail, a woman who was looking after their pets at their home called police when she found paraphernalia around the house. During a subsequent police investigation, authorities found Suboxone. All of the children later tested positive for heroin and morphine, including the newborn.

Both individuals were released after the shopping incident but later arrested after an investigation showed that they gave drugs to the newborn. Bail for both parents was set at $10,000 cash only, KUTV reported.

“God gave this sick people 4 children and THEY put those little kids lives in danger. I pray parents who can’t have children can give them a loving home with God in their lives. May God have mercy on those sick minded couple and heal their sick minds. There are no telling how many sick people are guilty of the same things!!!!!” another wrote.

“This couple has the worst disease in the world drug abuse. Makes people do all kinds of crazy things they don’t care about anybody but themselves it’s a shame. The children suffer as well as anyone that loves and cares for them. It’s a shame,” another added.
