Parents Force Child To Sleep Outside Naked (Photos)

Authorities charged a Florida couple with aggravated child abuse after they allegedly forced their child to sleep naked outside. Brenda and Marc Marshall of Live Oak, Florida, have been arrested in the child abuse case, according to the Suwannee Democrat.

A report from the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office says when Marc arrived home from work at around 7 p.m. on Jan. 20, his wife told him that she was punishing his child for urinating and defecating on the floor. Brenda, who is not the child’s biological mother, is accused of forcing the child to sleep overnight on a section of concrete in the family’s backyard, without clothing. The report states that neither Marc nor Brenda provided Marc’s child with shelter or anything to keep him warm.

The father told police he did not bother checking on his child and still hadn’t until 8:40 a.m. on Jan. 21, when deputies arrived at his home. A passerby reportedly spotted the child walking naked more than a mile away from the home at around 7:44 a.m. and called police. When officers picked up the child, they spotted cuts and bruises on the child’s feet. The report notes that the child looked frightened and exhausted when found and repeatedly expressed thirst and hunger to officers. She must have been the subject of mental and verbal abuse to have behaved like a toddler needing to be potty trained. Children will regress to infancy if they are abused in any way. Poor child, I hope they put her in protective service and not allow the stupid father back his child.” “How could anyone treat a child like that?” another reader commented. “My guess is they are so evil, most people would not treat their dog in such a way!
