Dozens Stand Outside Ivanka Trump’s Home In Protest, She Has The Perfect Response
Protesters gathered outside of Ivanka Trump’s New York City home in an effort to “help Ivanka move” ahead of her transition to Washington, D.C.
Dozens of protesters were pictured outside of the first daughter’s building, holding signs and fake moving boxes that portrayed what they want Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, to bring with them to the nation’s capital when they relocate to be close to Ivanka’s father, President Donald Trump.
“Dear Ivanka,” one protester wrote, “please don’t forget to pack human decency.”
The protest was put on by a group called the Halt Action Group, which called on people to come to the residence with boxes that included messages for Ivanka, her husband and her father.
“The boxes represent freedoms that people are fearful of losing,” the group wrote in a statement on its website. Some protesters advocated for abortion rights, some pushed for freedom of speech and others demanded nuclear regulation in their protests, the Daily Mail reported.
Meanwhile, Ivanka took to Instagram to post a photo of herself in Trump Tower before a date night. Alongside the photo was a caption that read, “Bright lights, big city.”
Another advocacy group, which runs the Dear Ivanka Instagram page, announced intentions to protest outside of the first daughter’s home. The page was launched in 2016 and included glamorous photos of the young woman alongside provocative and thought-provoking captions.
“Dear Ivanka,” one caption read, “I’ve been raped and I need to have an abortion.”
In a Facebook post, Ivanka announced her move and the reasons behind it.
“My husband, Jared, and I will be moving with our family to Washington, DC, where Jared will serve as Senior Advisor to the President,” she wrote.
“I plan to take time to settle our three young children into their new home and schools. When my father takes office as the 45th President of the United States of America, I will take a formal leave of absence from The Trump Organization and my eponymous apparel and accessories brand. I will no longer be involved with the management or operations of either company.”
News of the protests quickly went viral, with many criticizing the protesters for directing their frustrations towards the president’s daughter.
“Couldn’t decide to like or angry,” one Newsiosity reader wrote on the site’s Facebook page. “I’ve seen these protests are supposed to be what democracy is about. Yesterday’s inauguration is what democracy is about. This represents anarchy and hatred, exactly what they say they are against. This is shameful. I greatly admire how the whole Trump family is handling it.”
