Sign Pops Up Overnight At Muslim Cashier’s Register, Two Words Leave Aldi’s Shoppers Livid

A U.K. man has vowed to never shop at one grocery store again after he saw the sign put up at a Muslim cashier’s register.

A man named Ethan went into his local Aldi supermarket and was shocked by what he saw. While going to check out, he saw a sign posted on one cashier’s till which read: “No alcohol is able to be served on this till. Sorry for any inconvenience.”

Ethan was outraged by the sign, which, according to Mad World News, was posted at the till of a Muslim employee.

The shopper tweeted his frustrations with the store, writing: “Well I won’t be shopping in Aldi anymore. Everyone should retweet this.”

Aldi’s Twitter account responded to the tweet, offering an explanation.

“Hi Ethan, thanks for your comment,” a representative responded. “If a colleague raises concerns about a job they have been asked to do, our approach is to try and find a solution. In this case we put out a sign on the till, letting customers know that our colleague would not be serving alcohol. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused and will try to ensure all colleagues are placed in the most suitable conditions moving forwards. We hope this answers your concerns.”

Readers shared their thoughts on the story on the Mad World News Facebook page.

“The company is backwards in their thinking,” one reader commented. “A cashier is for the convenience of your CUSTOMERS not themselves. If an employee has such rigid beliefs that they can’t serve all customers then they need another job. You aren’t supposed to force your personal beliefs on your customers UNLESS you don’t care whether you have customers. I wouldn’t ever go there again.”

“I don’t mind that Muslims are in our country, my problem is they want us to change our way of life to suit their beliefs,” another user wrote. “Practice your religion within the constraints of our laws, you came here by choice, you were not forced. You are not in your native country so respect the laws and customs of this country, you are a guest. NUFF SAID.”

“If this is true, why is he still employed?” another reader added. “If he can’t perform his assigned duties, why is he still employed? He isn’t selling, or drinking the product, he’s merely collecting the money for his employer. Another thing I noticed is that he looks to be under 21 years of age – is it illegal for him to handle the product?”
