Why Getting Married In Heaven Is A Bad Idea
A couple was on their way to get married when they were involved in a car accident, killing both of them. When they arrived at the Pearly Gates, they waited for St. Peter to show up to let them in.
During their wait, the couple started to wonder if they would be able to get married in heaven.
When St. Peter finally showed up, the couple asked him if that would be possible.
“I don’t know,” he replied. “This is the first time anyone has asked. Let me go find out.”
The couple waited for an answer, but St. Peter never returned. Finally, three months later, after wondering if they would ever get a response, he came back.
He told them that they could in fact get married in heaven.
“Awesome!” the couple said. “But we were just wondering, what if things don’t work out? Could we also get a divorce in Heaven?”
St. Peter was furious. He slammed his clipboard down and shouted, “OH, COME ON!”
“What’s wrong?” the couple asked, frightened by St. Peter’s response.
“It took me three months to find a priest up here,” he said. “Do you have any idea how long it’ll take me to find a lawyer?”
