Woman Discovers Herself In The Background Of Her Husband’s Childhood Photo, 11 Years Before They Met (Photo)

Married couple Nick Wheeler, 26, and Aimee Maiden, 25, were stunned to find out that they were both in the same holiday photograph on the beach 11 years before they met.

The two were flipping through old pictures at Wheeler’s grandparents’ home after their engagement, when Maiden unexpectedly recognized herself as one of the girls in the background of the image.

“Nick is sitting front right in the boat with his sister and two cousins and his family,” Maiden said. “To the left and behind his cousin I’m in the blue swimsuit with my mum, dad and sister.”

Both Maiden and Wheeler, who were children at the time, can be seen happily making sandcastles with their families.

Wheeler’s granddad took the picture, according to Daily Mail.

Maiden said that the photo is even more momentous because Wheeler’s family didn’t even live in Cornwall when the picture was taken – the family was there on vacation.

“What makes it even more significant was that, although I was brought up in Mousehole, Nick and his family didn’t even live in Cornwall at the time,” said Maiden. “He and his family were down on holiday from Kent and didn’t move down permanently to Newlyn until a year later.”

It wasn’t until 11 years later after the picture was taken in 1994, when the two were in high school and began their relationship.

The pair moved in together after Maiden was educated to be a teacher and Wheeler entered the U.S. Army. The couple got engaged in 2013 and hosted a party displaying the beach photo to friends and family, according to Metro.

The couple married a year later near the spot where the original photo was taken and spent their honeymoon in Florida. Upon return, they planned on framing the picture.

“It’s probably something we should do,” Maiden said.

Maiden says that the coincidence just confirms that she found her soulmate for life.
