Woman Lands In Court After ‘Raping A Man’

A British woman appeared in court after being accused of raping a man twice.

Katie Brannen was arrested after the alleged rape, which occurred in January. In court, Brannen was not asked to enter a plea regarding the two charges of rape against her. Her impending trial will begin in December, with a hearing preceding it on September 25.

Brannen was granted bail until the time of the trial, Daily Mail reported.

“If you do not come to your trial on December 4 it could go ahead in your absence,” the judge told her in court. “On those terms you are free to go and we will see you back here on September 25.”

Many readers speculated about the woman’s gender orientation, with some claiming that she was born a man.

“I think some people are missing the point. It doesn’t matter if this woman is really a man or if she’s a woman. No means no and i hope if found guilty they make an example of her,” one reader commented on Daily Mail’s Facebook page.

In a similar story, a groom admitted to raping a woman for hours right before he was set to marry his partner.

Derry McCann reportedly sexually assaulted his victim in a London park on January 13, after luring her towards him and playing “mind games” with her, Independent reported.

Just hours later, McCann married his fiancee.

Ten years earlier, McCann was imprisoned for a similar offense – a rape in a London park. He was given a life sentence for that crime, but was ultimately freed.

“It was about midnight, just a little after, and the victim was walking a short distance home having been out [socializing] with friends,” prosecutor Kate Bex told the court of the McCann’s most recent rape.

“She was almost within sight of her own front door when she skirted round the side of the park on her usual route home. She avoided walking through the middle of it because that was too dangerous, she walked around the side, but unfortunately when near the exit of the park the defendant grabbed her arm and pulled her to one side.”

“He began a sustained and systematic attack, penetration of each orifice accompanied by unusual conversation with the victim, best described as mind games in an attempt to control her,” the prosecutor added.

“Asking the victim what she thought he was going to do to her before actually carrying out the acts. He behaved oddly in other respects in interacting with the victim concerning the condom he used when he penetrated and ejaculated.”

McCann is set to be sentenced on April 28.
