A photo of an unusual-looking meal served to a woman on a flight in Australia is going viral.

An unidentified woman was on a Qantas flight from Sydney to Brisbane when the flight attendant delivered her bizarre meal. Shocked by what she saw, she snapped a photo of the phallic dish.

“I asked the server what it was … and he told me that it was a root vegetable,” the woman told News.com.au. “I asked him to pass me my phone so I could take a photo … I never take photos of food but this was too funny to pass up.”

She continued: “He blushed and was very apologetic, I don’t think he had ever seen anything quite like it … the lady next to me was cracking up.”

The woman says she didn’t try the unusual root vegetable, but that she did eat the dumplings, which she said were “delicious.”

The woman shared the photo on her Facebook page, where it quickly went viral and sparked some conversation about the odd-looking vegetable.

“Is that food, or in-flight entertainment?” one commenter joked.

“Definitely a root vegetable they couldn’t serve on Virgin,” another user wrote.

“Did you ask for a stiff drink to accompany it?” another commented.

After some discussion about what the vegetable actually was, several people determined it must be an eggplant.

According to News.com.au, the Qantas business class menu was developed in part by chef Neil Perry of Rockpool. Qantas replied to the site’s request for comment on the dish.

“The dish pictured is Steamed Vegetarian Dumplings with Chili Black Vinegar and Soy Dressing,” a spokesperson for the airline said. “The dumplings are accompanied with steamed Japanese Eggplant, which is commonly used in Asian meals. Based on this picture, we may look at renaming it Dumpling Surprise.”
